How Can I Get A Character?

What characters are available? How do I apply for a character? What do I do  once I have my character?
These questions and more are answered in this portion of the webpage.

Character Generaltion
Much of our application / character generation process is done in an online format. What does this mean? Well,
basically all you must do to apply for a character is to simply connect to the MUX ( beck.mudservices.com:7777 )
look through the News, and then type '+features/list' or '+features' for a list of available characters.
Once you find a character you'd like to play simply contact a Wizard. The Wizard will ask you a few quick questions
reguarding the character you want.  If your answers are acceptable you pass!  The Wizard will then ask you for your
Real Life Name, & email address. Your character will then be created, and its password emailed to you.
NOTE:  Just because a character is available does not mean you will automatically receive it. If your answers to
your "on the spot" type interview are unacceptable the Wizard reserves the right to deny your character request.

Exceptions* STARS *
Major features like those in the Mag7, over powered characters, and characters that have their own titles will not be available via online character generation. These characters will have a * star * by their names on the +feature list. An
application will have to be filled out for them and emailed into the Wizards.  The application form is shown below.

Application Guidelines

Applications should be sent in a format compatible with the Pine mail system: do not send an attached file, or a file done in
MSWord.

Applications should be proofread before sending -- those with frequent typos or formatting errors will be sent back, unread.

Applications must be at least 7K in length. Do not exceed 70K.

Any information copied from a web page will void the application.

Remember that the most important thing about an application is to show that you have the proper understanding of the character
to play him or her on a consistent basis. You don't have to have read every appearance, but even the things that you haven't
read you should allude to. If there is some specific gap in your knowledge of the character, mention it in the application. If you
are straightforward with the voters, they're more likely to cut you slack than if they just think you don't know what you're talking
about.

Responses

You will receive a response within 3-5 days. Personal player info is stripped from the application, then forwarded to a select group of players and Admin. If your application is rejected, you have one more opportunity to re-apply: otherwise we will ask you to pick a different character. Complaining about a rejection notice on the game or in E-mail will make you non-eligible for the application process. Wizards reserve the right to reject an application for any reason, including troubled player history ElseMU*. Wizards provide the reason for rejection as a courtesy, not policy.
